My Friend Tara

If you are like me, you have TONS of pages about your kids, maybe a couple about yourself or your spouse, and NONE about your friends. I’m trying to change that! :) And today I want to share a page I made all about my friend Tara.

Tara and I have been friends for years. And she is one of my faithful scrapping buddies. Twice a year we get together (with about 8 of our friends) for a full weekend of scrapping. This past January I decided to make her fill out a quiz about me and I answered the same questions about her. Then I made this page to document our friendship!

  • Design Inspiration: The idea, and the quiz, for this page came from Ella’s eBook Quick & Creative Quizzes.
  • Color Inspiration: because this page was so text heavy I wanted to print directly on the paper. So I chose one that had a very subtle pattern. Red is Tara’s favorite color so I decided to accent with that

With so much journaling and a strip of photos there wasn’t much room for embellishment. But the page definitely needed something! Washi tape was the perfect answer! It gave the corner some interest and by adding a label sticker and some gems I had a nice little embellishment cluster.

And now here’s our answers about one another…

What’s funny is as I was scrolling through my photos looking for ones of Tara and I together I found one my husband took at the pool the first year Tara and I met. Probably the exact time she was trying to talk to me and I was “acting like I wanted to be anywhere but talking to her” when in reality I was SO intimidated by her. My shy ways have often gotten me labeled as stand offish. :) Good thing Tara isn’t one to give up!

How could I finish a girly page with out a few flowers? I don’t get to use flowers much, and I LOVE these! I think I used almost the entire package on this layout…but Tara is worth it! :)

Have you ever made a layout about your friend? You totally should! I love that I have these memories of Tara documented so that I can add her to my People We Love album. I’m totally going to be making more layouts about the friends in my life!
